Syracuse, NY is not known just for the snow and cold winter months; this city offers fun year-round! As the county seat of Onondaga County, New York, Syracuse is the fifth most populous city in the state, according to syracuse.edu. The city is situated right in between New York City and Toronto, about 245 miles from each destination, close to the Finger Lakes. Home to Syracuse University, Erie Canal Museum, the Milton J. Rubenstein Museum of Science & Technology and the Rosamond Gifford Zoo, Syracuse has many great places to visit. The city hosts The Great New York State Fair as well as Winterfest, Polish Fest, Greek Fest, NY State Blues Fest and the AmeriCU Syracuse Arts & Crafts Festival. Syracuse is home to so much art and entertainment in its charming, historic downtown area. There are local, national and international dining options throughout the city providing a variety of options for every pallet. Home to the third largest mall in the country, Destiny USA, the city has many shopping options including boutiques, flea markets, and farmers markets. There are also over 170 parks and nature areas in the city where you can enjoy hiking, skiing, biking, swimming and any outdoor activity you could think of. Other than experiencing Syracuse University’s Division 1 sports, you can enjoy the Syracuse Mets baseball, Syracuse Crunch hockey and the Syracuse Stallions basketball team. Overall, the city has so much to offer all year long!
