SARATOGA SPRINGS

Saratoga Springs has remained a popular resort city for over 200 years! A destination sought after for its environment of recovery marked historical import and perhaps most of all, the horses. Hence the city’s slogan: Health, History and Horses. To many people along the East Coast, let alone the State of New York, Saratoga Springs is a static window over America at the turn of the century. Simply reviewing the city’s architecture, old stained-glass storefronts, grand Victorian hotels, Greek revival galore, masonry on public restrooms one would expect to find in a church, all make for an awe-inspiring cityscape. In other words, Saratoga is a classically beautiful American city the likes of which, these days, are unfortunately few and far apart. There are moments now, no doubt, you find yourself worn away, perhaps even sickened by the incessant clamor and concrete washed drab of the Big Apple. If this sounds like you, hear this – put the wet rag and esters away and consider a week-long excursion to any one of Saratoga’s naturally occurring mineral springs. The Roosevelt Baths & Spa provides soothing remedies for kith and kin. What more could be done than “taking the waters” to cure one’s malaise. The compounds, salts and various fumes take effect over a serpentine journey underground and give the water a toxin-purging treatment, leaving only lingering hints of sulfur to perfume patrons as they ascend the tub to dry. The natural springs swiftly sew up and loosen the tension and ache of one’s muscles in a sensory-provoking, transcendental process that will surely see one wanting to return thereafter at each near cough or sniffle.
