Catskill Mountain Railroad
Interested in experiencing the Catskill Mountains, but don’t know the best way to do it? The Catskill Mountain Railroad takes you through a beautiful and picturesque train ride that travels through the scenic Catskill Mountains. Starting from Kingston, the CMRR is typically a one-hour ride with fun events. Each train ride travels through old farmlands within the Hudson Valley, as well as over the Esopus creek on the C9 bridge. The CMRR also crosses through the Hurley flats and over Hurley Mountain. The train rides are currently limited to 60 passengers.
Throughout each year, CMRR features great events that cater to the seasons. These events include:

Each of the CMRR events are suitable for both children and adults. Be sure to select your train ride via the CMRR website. The most popular of the events are the Easter Bunny Express, Polar Express and Catskill Fall Foliage Adventure. No matter which season you’re boarding the CMRR, you’ll be in awe by the beauty of the Hudson Valley. Each Sunday, ice cream is offered alongside the train ride.
Easter Bunny Express
Take a fun one-hour train ride with the Easter Bunny himself. While on the train, you’ll be able to meet and take photos with the Easter Bunny. Additionally, you’ll leave with your own complimentary bag of candy. This event is perfect for the spring season.
Polar Express
The Polar Express is always a fun adventure for the whole family. It is coming back for the 2021 holidays! During the ride, you’ll experience the similar, extravagant fun from the movie of the same name, and meet Santa Claus. The rides will be on weekends in November through December with three trains through out the day.
Catskill Fall Foliage Adventure
This event is exactly how it sounds. The Catskill Mountains are always a beautiful sight to behold, especially during the fall season. The leaves are changing to red, orange and yellow among the mountain trees. This train ride takes you along the Catskill Mountains so you can get the full fall foliage experience.
