Haymaker Bar and Kitchen

Finally, a good alternative to the normal Irish pubs around Penn Station! After getting off of the train, it's just a three-minute walk to Haymaker Bar and Kitchen. This bar is unlike the dreary commuter bars that are usually packed out, this is a new, smart and proper way to enjoy a few drinks.

Haymaker Bar and Kitchen is a place where comfort and hospitality is the main focus of the staff. In fact, they claim that Haymaker is “inspired by a time when relaxed and generous hospitality was believed to be an obligation.” The American gastropub is made to replicate a haymaker’s farmhouse in the early 20th century, all while maintaining the vibe of a nice bar.

You can enjoy a vast amount of beers on tap, which is recommended, or by the bottle where the selection is vast. You can also enjoy a small but elegant selection of wine by the glass, creative cocktails, and a large menu beating out regular old pub food.

“Always in short supply: a decent Penn Station-area bar [Haymaker] “
