Syracuse Opera

Current Status: Temporarily Closed

The Syracuse Opera opened its doors in 1974 and has remained a Syracuse staple ever since. The Syracuse Opera is the only year-round professional opera company in Central New York and operates as a non-profit business.

Experience the excitement that is live theater as you witness the exquisite work of both world-class singers and local talent alike. Though the entertainment is top-tier, fear not! The Syracuse Opera values the comfort of its visitors, so the only dress code is to wear what makes you most comfortable. Additionally, for those who would like to “understand” each word no matter how exotic the language, the Syracuse Opera provides translations of the vocalists’ lines projected above the stage so you can choose to follow along if you so desire.

You’re sure to find a production suited to your tastes, as the Syracuse Opera presents all types of productions, spanning from traditional classics to modern perspectives and novel ideas. Keep an eye on the Syracuse Opera’s website for a posting of the current schedule.

Admission:

  • $10 Student tickets available for purchase at the box office or by phone
  • Tickets for individual shows will be available on Ticketmaster or at the box office
  • Box office opens one hour prior to every performance
