Rocking Horse Ranch Resort
This family-orientated all-inclusive resort, located in Highland about 90 miles north of New York City, has it all. Think unlimited horseback riding, indoor and outdoor pools, delicious meals and snacks, live shows, entertainment, activities and adventures. Plus, the fun continues into the winter with special holiday weekends and events.
Rocking Horse Ranch opened Memorial Day Weekend in 1958, over 60 years ago.
Head over to the Ranch in the winter to skate on the new rink, snow tube or go for a horse drawn sleigh ride. Rocking Horse Ranch takes care of the planning and cooking so guests can fully enjoy all of the winter activities offered. In December, Santa Claus makes an appearance on the 5th, 19th and 24th. Bring your camera to get a family photo with Santa in a socially distanced environment. Additionally, guests can enjoy the 500-foot long timber chute snow tube lanes, go skiing or ice skating. However, Rocking Horse Ranch is really famous for their 50,000 blue lights that cover its pine trees during the holiday season. The last special lighting ceremony of the season is on Friday, December 18. In 2020, Rocking Horse Ranch has added a new holiday winter garden and train display. Guests are invited to spend Christmas Eve and Christmas day at the resort, with all children 15 and under receiving a gift from Santa. Complimentary wine is served at dinner. Circle back and celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Ranch as well, where they will be providing entertainment, three all-you-can-eat meals, music and more.
During the summer guests can enjoy water sports on its own private lake, tubing on the Northeast’s longest mountain tubing adventure and bungee jumping to heights of 25 feet. The many miles of riding trails are open all year around, with unlimited horseback riding available. Plus, they have indoor and outdoor pools for maximum fun. Nightly entertainment is included with everything from comedians to jugglers. It is true family fun that isn’t worth missing.
All Year Long
Children are sure to enjoy Lucky Horseshoe Arcade and The Fun Barn with interactive softplay, air powered Nerf cannons. Adults can try out their shooting skills at the gallery and archery range.
The all-you-can-eat meals included in your stay are prepared by graduates from the nearby Culinary Institute of America. Complete your accommodations with a stay either the Main Lodge or in the Oklahoma Building next door.
