Port Jervis Watershed Park & Recreation Area

The Port Jervis Watershed Park & Recreation Area is a 307-acre park is the perfect place to take part in a range of activities for the whole family to enjoy. Run by volunteers as a nonprofit organization, The Outdoor Club of Port Jervis remain as the stewards of the park and create, assist, and sponsor outdoor activities for all of the surrounding areas.

Port Jervis Watershed Trails

The Port Jervis Watershed Trails provides a vast range of routes starting from easy to moderate and advanced for the ultimate challenge. Here, the trails span through the Port Jervis Watershed and the Elks-Brox Memorial Park with opportunistic trails and beautiful views of the Shawangunk and Kittatinny mountains along with the Delaware and Neversink River Valleys.

Trails are available for hiking and biking. Picnic tables and Point Peter overlook are great spots to surround yourself with beautiful scenery and eat that sandwich you packed.

Special Events

Check out The Port Jervis Watershed Trails website to see what’s going on this month from special events hosted by the club. Past possibilities include ProAm fat tire and mountain biking competitions throughout within the year, themed tours like the Monsters on the Mountain guided lantern hike for Halloween, and hikes on the Elks-Brox Memorial Park to spot a full moon.

Memberships & Donations

Become a member of The Outdoor Club of Port Jervis to be included in special events and giveaways! Maintained by nonprofit, donations are also accepted to help preserve the beautiful trails.

Parking for Port Jervis Watershed Park and Recreation Area

There are five available parking lots for the public along the trails. See the locations on the map for reference.

Take the Train to Port Jervis Watershed Park and Recreation Area

Ride Metro-North/NJ Transit to Port Jervis Station in the Hudson River Valley. Metro North/NJ Transit service to Port Jervis is accessible at New York Penn Station where connections are also available from Long Island Railroad and out of state Amtrak trains.

From Port Jervis Station, Port Jervis Watershed Park and Recreation Area  is a 8-minute drive. Uber and Lyft are also available to and from Port Jervis Station.
