Conveniently located on the border of Bushwick and Ridgewood, Nowadays began as a seasonal outdoor bar/restaurant and hangout location in the summer of 2015. In 2017, Nowadays added an indoor venue for year-long, weatherproof fun. The indoor venue has ‘living-room’ vibes that allow its visitors to feel cozy while they enjoy food, drinks, games and cultural performances.
Visitors acclaim the grub from the food trucks and the cocktails from the bar as delicious, the backdrop as refreshing, and the times to be had as a pleasant combination of both fun and relaxing. With several games available for visitors, clean bathrooms, music (a given, as two local DJs originally created this space!), cultural programs, and sunset movie screenings, there’s something for everyone. Nowadays serves as an escape from daily life with its unique aesthetics and flavor-packed food and drink options. Take a day-cation to this venue that locals cherish and travelers revere.
Admission:
During their current “Phase 2” reopening, Nowadays provides visitors with a safe, socially-distanced experience by requiring a reservation to enter.
- Reservations are $5 per person.
- There is a maximum of 10 people per table reservation. You may make more than one reservation if you have more than 10 people in your party.
- Reservations are for up to 2 hours; however, if there are no reservations following yours, you are welcome to stay.
- To reserve a spot at the Tuesday & Wednesday sunset movie screenings, be sure to choose a reservation block marked “Film.” These are said to fill up more quickly, so it is recommended to reserve these in advance.
Some visitors have reported that the popular demand for food can outweigh the supply as the day progresses, so if you’re looking to sample some of the many exquisite items on the menu, you may want to make you reservation for earlier in the day. This will provide you a better chance to choose anything from the menu.
