L’Amico

With less than a ten-minute walk from Penn Station, guests, tourists, and foodies can find themselves at the doorsteps of L'Amico, an American restaurant with an Italian twist inside of the Eventi Hotel. The beautiful decor and rustic attribute are a proper pairing for the delicious meals, drinks and atmosphere.

The exquisite pairing of both American and Italian meals are not randomly chosen by a regular chef. This was an idea thought of by the Executive Chef of L’Amico, Laurent Tourondel. As a boy growing up in the country-side of Europe, his grandmother’s meals inspired him. On top of that living in America exposed him to food like New York style pizza, which he sought to combine with the ingredients and flavor of his upbringing.

Aesthetically, L’Amico has something more unique than most New York City restaurants. Like some European eateries, there is a visible kitchen inside the restaurant as well as the same kitchen that is visible for people on walking on the street on 6th ave.

Pizza by the Pie

There is something for everybody at L’Amico when it comes to the pizza. The “Quattro Formaggi” with fontina, robiola, taleggio, mozzarella, shishito all perfectly cooked in the wood-burning oven. Another crowd favorite is the “Speck” pie combining a unique spread of toma, smoked prosciutto, caraway. The thing that is so special about the somewhat upscale pizza, is the thin and crispy crust making it the perfect homage to New York pizza.

Unique Bar Scene

Being that L’Amico is in the heart of New York City, having drinks that stand out is important—while still keeping with the Italian style. For example, the Primo Uomo containing the finest most delectable ingredients; La Diablada Pisco, Dolin Blanc, lime, blood orange, sage. If you’re not interested in something obscure, there are many options for wine drinkers. You can select reds, whites, roses, neutrals, and sparkling wines all hailing from Italian vineyards and wineries.

“Moral of the story: get a pizza. Regardless of what’s on top, the crust is good enough to keep you happy.”

Chris Stang from The Infatuation
