Bryant Park

Beloved uptown park with green space, outdoor markets, and summer movie screenings. There’s always something going on!

Located in midtown Manhattan, Bryan Part is a 9.6-acre public park just behind the New York Public Library. From ping pong, to the Reading Room, to chess, to drawing workshops and summer movie screenings, Bryant Park offers a little something for everyone. You are welcome to bring a blanket to spread on the Lawn, to walk amongst the gardens, to plop down on a park chair and enjoy the atmosphere, to walk your dog in designated areas, and to take souvenir photos. As you stroll through the park, you’ll likely pass by cultural events and talented street performers, as well as artfully designed and famous architecture around the park’s perimeters.

Bryant Park prides itself on its thoughtful inclusion of urban amenities meshed seamlessly into the natural haven created by the park’s lush flora and fauna. Though surrounded by some of the most famous New York City views, the park itself has been described as an urban oasis, as its visitors are able to feel removed from the hustle and bustle of the city while still breathing in the grandeur of the surrounding midtown Manhattan.

Horticulture enthusiasts will find Bryant Park especially appealing, as its most recent renovations include the addition of thousands of plants each year, aside from the hundreds of signature plants that have thrived there for over 30 years. Those interested in history will also find what they’re looking for in Bryant Park, as there are historical monuments throughout the grounds.

Though there is no grilling/cooking in the park, there are plenty of bars, grills, cafes, and more both within and surrounding Bryant Park.

Bryant Park depicts its restrooms luxuriously, equipped with classical music; Italian tiles; automatic toilets and fixtures; and a changing station. They are open to the public daily from noon to 6 p.m. and are located on the northeast corner of the park, near 42nd Street.

“What a little gem so close to Times Square… Easy to forget the hustle and bustle around you.”
