NYC Pride
The New York City Pride March first took place in 1970 when brave revolutionaries in the LGBTQIA+ community took a stand for equal rights. It is an all-inclusive event that brings communities together. It’s a place where the LGBTQIA+ community can be celebrated and there is a remembrance for those in the past and present who face persecution.
Finding support and empowerment for the strength displayed by those who have and continue to be discriminated against for their identity. Beginning in 1970 with the Stonewall Inn, this Pride event is a celebration of love in its entirety. Each year the march works towards fostering love, acceptance and growth towards all sexualities, races and gender identities.

Pride in 2022
Every year, millions of people travel to New York City in order to relish in the acceptance that the march garners. This year in 2022, Pride will be held in person.
The theme of NYC Pride in 2022 is “Unapologetically Us,” nycpride.org. Grand Marshals at the march include Ts Madison, Punkie Johnson, Schuyler Bailar, Dominique Morgan and Chase Strangio.
