    What to Expect at Macy's 4th of July Fireworks

    The Biggest Fireworks Display in the U.S.

    Produced by Macy’s and Pyro Spectaculars by Souza, the show launches more than 60,000 shells and effects from barges in the East River, creating a 25-minute immersive experience choreographed to a custom musical score of patriotic and contemporary hits.

    In 2025, the show will once again feature:

    • Multiple launch barges along the East River, with views from Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens

    • Massive shells reaching heights of over 1,000 feet

    • Special effects like smiley faces, crackling comets, and glittering waterfalls

    • A rousing soundtrack performed by the United States Army Field Band and Soldiers’ Chorus

    • A live broadcast on NBC from 8–10 PM ET, including musical performances and celebrity appearances

    Where to watch the Fireworks

    While the official viewing locations will be announced closer to the event date, prime spots typically include:

    • Long Island City waterfront parks in Queens

    • Brooklyn Heights Promenade and Pebble Beach at Brooklyn Bridge Park

    • FDR Drive in Manhattan (with limited sections open to the public)

    • Roosevelt Island

    • Private rooftops and river cruises (tickets required)

    Public viewing access opens in the late afternoon, with security screenings at each location. Early arrival is strongly recommended.

    When else than the 4th of July! The Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks 2025 takes place Thursday, July 4, with the fireworks scheduled to begin around 9:25 PM, weather permitting. The entire event is free and open to the public, with the best viewing locations announced closer to the show
