Visit one of New York State’s most historic sites and attend Fort Ticonderoga’s Fourth of July weekend! Celebrate the Fourth of July at one of the locations that contributed to our liberty from the British. From July 4-5, take part in various activities, digitally and in-person, highlighting the events that occurred at Fort Ticonderoga during the revolution. Join museum staff members and costumed interpreters as they take you through the events that happened at the fort in 1777.
Attending the July 4th Celebration
The weekend celebration will take place from July 4-5 with events scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Due to COVID-19, general admission capacity for this event will be capped at 400 visitors per day. In addition, visitors are required to purchase their tickets in advance online to limit physical interactions. Participating in the Weekend’s Events
Join in on the celebration by attending the many events that the Fort offers. Visitors can hike the Carillon Battlefield (“Liberty Hill”) and see where American cannons shot British ships in 1777. In addition, experience Key to the Continent guided tours, musket demonstrations and tour the historic gardens. Also, visitors can see bateau maintenance demonstrations, cannon demonstrations and the “Witness to History” guided tours. Visitors can participate in events to entertain and teach them about the Fort’s history and role in the Revolution.
Take Amtrak to Fort Ticonderoga
Visit the Fort this Fourth of July weekend via Amtrak to the Ticonderoga Station—Don’t forget to use the Amtrak See New York and Save 15% discount! The station is 1.0 mile away from the fort, making it an easy and convenient option to get to the celebration.
