Discover large-scale contemporary art in a stunning former factory overlooking the Hudson River at Dia Beacon. The museum showcases Dia Art Foundation’s collection from the 1960s to today, along with special exhibitions, installations and public programs.

    Explore Dia Beacon

    Housed in a nearly 300,000-square-foot former Nabisco box-printing factory, Dia Beacon offers an expansive setting for contemporary art. The museum presents much of Dia’s collection from the 1960s to the present, along with special exhibitions, new commissions and public programs.

    The enormous galleries and natural light from the building’s skylights create a unique environment for experiencing large-scale works by artists including Louise Bourgeois, Agnes Martin, Donald Judd, Richard Serra, Andy Warhol and more.

    Dia Beacon presents Dia Art Foundation’s collection of art from the 1960s to the present, with a focus on large-scale works and installations. Highlights include:

    • Minimalist Art: Featuring works by artists including Donald Judd, Dan Flavin, Agnes Martin and Robert Ryman.
    • Large-Scale Installations: Monumental works by artists such as Richard Serra and Walter De Maria are displayed throughout the museum’s expansive galleries.
    • Contemporary Art: The collection includes works by artists such as Louise Bourgeois, Andy Warhol, Gerhard Richter and Hélio Oiticica.

    The museum’s former factory setting, with its expansive galleries and abundant natural light, provides a unique backdrop for experiencing these large-scale works.

    More Than a Museum

    Visitors can take part in public tours every Saturday and Sunday at 12 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. Tours are free with admission and do not require reservations. Dia Beacon also offers special walkthroughs, educational programs and events throughout the year.

    After exploring the galleries, stop by the Dia Beacon Café, which offers seasonal soups, salads, sandwiches, pastries, coffee and espresso drinks. The museum shop features Dia publications, artist monographs, exhibition catalogs and regional titles.

    Plan Your Visit

    General admission is $25 for adults, $18 for seniors, $12 for students and visitors with disabilities, and $5 for children ages 5–11. Admission is free for Dia members, children under five, and Beacon and Newburgh residents. Advance reservations are suggested but not required.

    Hudson Valley residents receive free admission on the last Sunday of each month, while Beacon and Newburgh residents receive free admission every day.

    Friday–Monday: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    Tuesday–Thursday: Closed

    Hours change seasonally. Please arrive before 4:30 p.m. for admission.

    Take Amtrak to Dia Beacon

    Experience Dia Beacon via Amtrak to the Hudson Valley and connect with Metro-North’s Hudson Line to Beacon. Dia Beacon is located at 3 Beekman Street in Beacon, and the museum’s own website highlights the train journey from Grand Central through the Hudson Valley as part of the experience of visiting Dia Beacon.

    From Beacon Station, visitors can continue to Dia Beacon by local transportation or on foot. On busy weekends and holidays, Dia notes that additional parking may be available at the Beacon train station.
