A Spa Getaway Along the Hudson: My Mirbeau Rhinebeck & Beacon Escape with New York By Rail
As Miss New York, my calendar is often filled with appearances, travel, community events, and long days on the go. While I absolutely love serving New Yorkers across the state, this trip was a beautiful reminder of the importance of slowing down, recharging, and prioritizing self-care.

Thanks to New York By Rail, I spent three unforgettable days experiencing two of New York's most luxurious wellness destinations: Mirbeau Inn & Spa Rhinebeck and Mirbeau Inn & Spa Beacon! From the moment I boarded the train, this getaway felt different. It wasn't just a trip (and my last trip as Miss New York 2025!) It was an opportunity to truly unplug, embrace wellness, and experience the beauty of the Hudson Valley.

One of the reasons I love partnering with New York By Rail is that travel becomes part of the experience itself. Instead of sitting in traffic or navigating highways, I settled into my Amtrak seat and enjoyed stunning views of the Hudson River as we made our way north. There is something incredibly relaxing about train travel. The scenery changes from city skylines to rolling hills and river views, and before you know it, you’ve arrived somewhere completely different.

DAY ONE

When I stepped off the train at Rhinecliff Station, I could already feel the stress of everyday life beginning to fade away. Just minutes from downtown Rhinebeck, Mirbeau Inn & Spa feels like a hidden sanctuary.

Inspired by French country estates, the property combines luxury, comfort, and wellness in a way that immediately makes you feel at home. From the beautiful gardens to the charming architecture, every corner of the property feels thoughtfully designed to create a peaceful retreat!

After arriving, I enjoyed lunch overlooking the Aqua Terrace before heading to the spa. And if there’s one thing I can say about Mirbeau, it’s that they have truly mastered the art of relaxation. The spa facilities at Mirbeau Rhinebeck are absolutely incredible.

Guests have access to a variety of wellness amenities designed to encourage complete relaxation. One of my favorite features was the heated whirlpool spa, where you can unwind while overlooking beautiful gardens and peaceful outdoor spaces.

Inside, the spa offers relaxation rooms, steam rooms, saunas, and quiet spaces that invite you to slow down. The atmosphere is calm from the moment you walk through the door. My massage was exactly what I needed after several busy weeks. By the time I left the treatment room, I felt lighter, refreshed, and completely recharged.

The guest rooms at Mirbeau Rhinebeck are every bit as luxurious as the spa itself. The room felt cozy yet elegant, with beautiful furnishings, comfortable bedding, and thoughtful touches throughout. After spending the afternoon enjoying the spa, I checked into my room and took some time to relax before dinner. That evening, I dined at Willow, Mirbeau’s on-site restaurant. The dining experience perfectly complemented the rest of the property. Between the incredible food, beautiful ambiance, and attentive service, it was the perfect ending to my first day!

One of the things that makes Mirbeau Rhinebeck so special is its location. The inn is within walking distance of downtown Rhinebeck, allowing guests to combine wellness and exploration in one getaway. The town itself feels like something out of a storybook. Tree-lined streets, charming boutiques, local bakeries, bookstores, and specialty shops make it easy to spend an afternoon wandering and discovering hidden gems.

DAY TWO

After my stay in Rhinebeck, I traveled to Mirbeau Beacon, the newest addition to the Mirbeau collection! While each property offers its own unique personality, Beacon shares the same commitment to luxury, wellness, and great hospitality.

From the moment I arrived, I was obsessed with the property’s beautiful design and peaceful atmosphere. I spent the afternoon taking advantage of the spa amenities and enjoying everything the property had to offer.

One of my favorite aspects of both Mirbeau properties is that wellness isn’t limited to a single treatment. The experience extends throughout your entire stay. Whether you’re enjoying the relaxation rooms, sipping tea between services, lounging by the whirlpool, or simply enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

Later that evening, I enjoyed a facial treatment that left my skin glowing and my mind completely relaxed. It truly was one of the most relaxing facials I’ve received!

What stood out most during my stay was the level of care provided by every member of the team. The staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure guests felt welcomed, comfortable, and cared for.

What made this trip truly memorable wasn’t just the beautiful accommodations or the incredible spa treatments (although those were incredible) It was the opportunity to disconnect from daily responsibilities, slow down, and focus on wellness.

Whether you’re planning a girls’ getaway, a romantic weekend, a solo wellness retreat, or simply looking for a relaxing escape from everyday life, both properties offer an experience that feels truly special. And thanks to New York By Rail and Amtrak, getting there couldn’t be easier.
