Nestled in one of the oldest neighborhoods in America, The Stockade Inn of Schenectady is an historic, 4-star boutique hotel housed within a grandiose 19th century building.
Originally built in 1814 as the Mohawk Bank, the building that now houses The Stockade Inn has undergone many transformations throughout its storied history. After serving as a bank, the structure became a private residence, then a school in the 1870s, and later, in 1904, it was purchased by the Mohawk Club, a prominent social club for businessmen. Finally, in 2003, the building was transformed into The Stockade Inn, preserving its historic charm while incorporating contemporary amenities. Today, guests at the inn can experience a refined, restful stay in the heart of Schenectady’s most picturesque neighborhood.

Each of The Stockade Inn’s guestrooms reflect the building’s vibrant past, with several rooms featuring elements from the original bank’s construction. All rooms feature TVs, refrigerators, microwaves, and either walk-in showers or soaking tubs.
Guests at The Stockade Inn can enjoy access to Inner Bliss Yoga & Wellness Studio, located on the inn’s second floor. This serene space focuses on mindfulness, balance, and wellness, welcoming both beginners and experienced yogis. Visitors can explore membership options and class schedules on the Inner Bliss website. The inn also features Graham’s Coffee Parlor. Stop by for a caffeine pick-me-up and a tasty baked good!
