Katie O’Byrnes

Taste a bit of Irish culture with this namesake pub's food, drinks and entertainment.

Celebrate Ireland on the opposite side of the pond! Katie O’Byrnes in downtown Schenectady offers a comfortable bar that represents Irish culture. The pub was created in the name of Katie O’Byrne herself, who was born in Dublin, Ireland in 1899. Four local Irish-Americans, one being her grandson, set out to create a “simple menu for thirsty patrons” to enjoy a little piece of Ireland in America. This menu turned into the full menu that is offered today. In 2020, the restaurant won first place for the best Irish restaurant in the Daily Gazette’s “Peoples Choice Awards Best of the Best.”

Katie O’Byrnes menu offers tasty food, great drinks and friendly service. The pub serves all types of food, beginning with starters and continuing with salads, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, pizza and full entrees. Some delicious menu items include Katie’s Buffalo Wings, Irish Reuben sandwich, Irish Breakfast Burger, Buffalo Chicken wrap, Reuben Pizza and Corned Beef & Cabbage.

Alongside the food is a selection of beers on tap, in addition to craft beers, IPAs, hard ciders, and imported/bottled beers. The restaurant holds many events, including Trivia Tuesdays, Celtic Night on Thursdays, Ladies Night on Fridays and daily Happy Hours. Katie O’Byrnes also has live entertainment on weekends, with several bands and events held at the pub.

You won’t be disappointed eating and drinking here, especially because of the restaurant’s close proximity to Schenectady station. Additionally, the restaurant does dine-in and curbside pickup, making it a safe option during the Covid-19 pandemic. Visit today to get the full Irish dining experience!
