Almanzo Wilder Homestead

Take a peek into 19th century farm living through the eyes of the author of Little House on the Prairie.

An incredible piece of history and an official literary landmark, the Almanzo Wilder Homestead offers a glimpse into 19th century farm life. The farm is the childhood home of Almanzo Wilder, husband of renowned author Laura Ingalls Wilder and subject of her book Farmer Boy. Laura is most famous for her beloved Little House on the Prairie. Artifacts, tools, and other memorabilia can be viewed at the museum and along a tour of the Almanzo Wilder Homestead and farm.

“Very interesting place to visit, Well preserved house and barns have been rebuilt. The staff are well informed and enjoy sharing the history of the farm and people who lived there.”
