The Southern Vermont Winter HomeBrew Festival
The Southern Vermont Winter HomeBrew Festival is a one day celebration of homemade alcoholic beverages. Every year the festival tends to sell out, and over 25 individuals are represented. 2021 marks the 5th anniversary of the event. The festival features beverages from home brewers across the Northeast. 2020s winner was Jack Lamson, from Albany, NY. Guests who want to come out to the festival can expect to try interesting concoctions and food from local vendors.

It costs 25 dollars to participate in the festival as a brewer and regular guests must purchase a ticket in advance, as the event usually sells out and no tickets are sold at the door.
Participating in the Southern Vermont HomeBrew Festival
The festival is oriented to an older audience who is of age to enjoy alcoholic beverages. Brewers who want to showcase their product must register in advance and bring at a minimum, five gallons of their product and no more than fifteen gallons. The festival provides home brewers with a table to put their product on, a free t-shirt and a towel. They also provide lunch, but recommend to bring your own food as well, because the event lasts the whole day. Winners of the contest receive a cash prize and a plaque.

Attend the Southern Vermont HomeBrew Festival via Amtrak to the Albany- Rensselaer Station, and then get on a bus via the Amtrak Thruway Bus Service to Green Mountain Express Bus Terminal in Bennington. Don’t forget to use the Amtrak See New York and Save 15% discount! The bus station is 0.3 miles away from the event, making it an easy and convenient option to get there.
