The New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show
Come and see the beautiful displays of New York City landmarks and trains from all over the world at this special holiday event!

The New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show is a must-see for the holiday season! Experience this spectacle filled with lights and New York’s most famous skyscrapers and landmarks. Some include the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, Yankee Stadium, the One World Trade Center, and many more! Over 150 landmarks are on display during the season and they are made of seeds, bark, leaves, twigs and other plant-based materials. Come to see this breathtaking display at the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory in the Botanical Gardens from November 23 to January 26.
History of the New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show
Paul Busse envisioned the New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show back in 1992. He was one of many designers who used plant parts to build trains and structures to create the first Holiday Train Show. Now, it is a successful display that uses natural materials to brighten up the Botanical Gardens!

Family Fun Series
Finish off your visit with the family with some holiday movies from 10 a.m.- 5 p.m. on December 21, 22, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, & 29 2019! Film Schedule:

“All Abroad with Thomas and Friends”
Join your favorite train Thomas and Driver Sam for a sing-along adventure! You and the family will help Thomas discover the steps to growing the beautiful botanical garden! Seating is on a first-come, first served basis and will begin 30 minutes before the train show time.
Tickets for “All Abroad with Thomas and Friends” are also included with a purchase to the Holiday Train Show! See Thomas and help out the garden for this special event!

Evergreen Express
In addition to the Holiday Train Show, there is also the Evergreen Express located in the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden. Bring the family for train fun at this special playground. Activities available for children to do are:
Play Trains- Climb and pretend to ride the play trains and cabooses!
Woodland Puppet Theater- Use the puppets to tell stories at the outdoor puppet theater.
Make a Conifer Sample- Make and learn how to preserve an evergreen sample. You can even take it home after!
Design an Evergreen Swag- Design a bundle of evergreens wrapped in holiday bows for the season!
Craft a Cone Critter- Make a cute cone critter with felt, glue and googly eyes. Take home this precious memory!
Bar Car Nights at the New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show
For adults 21 and over, experience an after-dark view of the Holiday Train Show! With your ticket to this event, you can purchase drinks from the seasonal bars and eat at the “Bronx Night Market Holiday Pop-Up,” which showcases the Bronx’s best variety of food. Explore the train show and more at the Bar Car Nights!

From Penn Station, walk to 34th-Herald Sq. Subway Station and take the D toward Norwood – 205 St. to Bedford Park Blvd. Station. From there, the New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show is a 14-minute walk (0.7 Miles). Uber and Lyft are also available.
