What Is the New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show?
Celebrate the holiday season at the New York Botanical Garden’s annual Holiday Train Show in the Bronx. Model trains travel through nearly 200 miniature replicas of New York landmarks, including famous skyscrapers and bridges, crafted from natural materials like bark, leaves, pinecones and twigs. The displays fill the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory, with an additional outdoor train landscape to explore. It’s a festive seasonal tradition for visitors of all ages.
How to Experience the Show
Visitors can choose timed-entry daytime tickets or flexible-entry tickets for their selected date. On select evenings, Holiday Train Nights offers an after-dark experience with illuminated displays, live music and seasonal refreshments. Tickets include access to the Holiday Train Show and the Garden’s outdoor collections through the All-Garden Pass.

When Is the Holiday Train Show?
The 2026–2027 Holiday Train Show runs from November 14, 2026, through January 10, 2027. Timed daytime entry begins at 10 a.m., with available entry slots through 5:15 p.m. on applicable dates. On select evenings, the Conservatory stays open until 8 p.m., with last entry at 7 p.m.
The show is located at the New York Botanical Garden, 2900 Southern Boulevard, Bronx, NY 10458. Check the official calendar for hours and availability on your preferred date.
Taking Amtrak to the Holiday Train Show
Take Amtrak to New York Penn Station in Manhattan. From there, take the uptown subway to Times Square–42nd Street and transfer to the S shuttle to Grand Central–42nd Street. At Grand Central Terminal, board a Metro-North Harlem Line local train to Botanical Garden Station, approximately 20 minutes away.
The station is across the street from the Garden’s Mosholu Entrance. Accessibility renovations are underway at the station through 2026, so allow an additional 10–15 minutes to navigate the temporary route.
