New York Botanical Garden Holiday Train Show
The beloved holiday tradition in the Bronx is back—and bigger than ever.

Every winter the New York Botanical Garden celebrates the holidays with the iconic Holiday Train Show. This year, the show adds an all-new outdoor train display. You’ll see more than 25 model trains and trolleys hum along early a half-mile of track. Start on the lawn at the outdoor mountainscapes and then watch trains zip past nearly 200 iconic New York landmarks in the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory. Visitors can also check out NYBG Glow, the garden’s outdoor holiday light experience, now back for its fourth year. Thousands of dazzling, energy-efficient choreographed lights and sound and picture-perfect installations create an amazing event.
While at NYBG, sit down for a festive farm-to-table meal at the Hudson Garden Grill, or swing by the Pine Tree Café for faster family-friendly fare. Warm up at the Spruce Bar with a cup of the famous NYBG hot chocolate, curated cocktails, and a selection of sweet and savory snacks.

On Tuesday, and Thursday-Sunday; Grounds Access Pass is available for purchase to NYC Residents only. Proof of residency is required and may only be purchased onsite. On Wednesdays, Grounds Admission is free to NYC residents all day and to all other visitors between 10‒11 a.m.
Grounds Admission includes access to outdoor gardens and collections, including the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden.

Take Amtrak to the Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden
Experience the Holiday Train Show via Amtrak to the Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station in New York City—Don’t forget to use the See New York and Save 15% discount!
From 34th Street-Penn Station, take the 1, 2, or 3 subway lines uptown to 42nd Street-Times Square and transfer to the S train toward Grand Central. From Grand Central Station, take the Harlem line to the Botanical Garden Station.
Or, from 34th Street-Penn Station, take the A subway line uptown toward Inwood-207th Street. At 125th Street Station, transfer to the D line going uptown toward Norwood-205th Street Station to Bedford Park Boulevard Station. From Bedford Park Boulevard Station, walk southeast along Bedford Park Boulevard to the New York Botanical Garden (a 13-minute walk).
