Lumagination 2021
Lumagination 2021 transforms the Buffalo Botanical Gardens into a magical world with state-of-the-art lighting and sound technology.

Visitors to the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens will enjoy a feast for the eyes at Lumagination 2021. Colorful special-effects, pieces of art, waterfalls, and thematic creations transform the familiar botanical gardens into something entirely different. The gardens are located at 2655 South Park Avenue in Buffalo, New York.
The visionary tour through the magical world of Lumagination takes guests on a tour of the greenhouses, each with their own theme enhanced by light and sound. This year’s particular installment provides an aquatic “under-the-sea” experience. Oversized coral will decorate the Main Palm Dome to give visitors the feeling of walking the sea floor, as fish are projected onto the ceiling above. The Aquatic Garden and Asia Rainforest will be laced with paper jellyfish and intricate lighting designs, while glow-in-the-dark plankton will illuminate the Desert Room. Other greenhouses display beautiful glass coral sculptures, optical rugs, and “sea aliens.” The Wegmans Family will offer interactive fun for children of all ages.
Lumagination 2021 features the innovative work of undergraduate students and professors at the University at Buffalo School of Theatre and Dance. Their greenhouse will be packed with state-of-the-art technology, elaborate sculptures, and theatrical designs to deliver a dramatic show.
Lumagination 2021 Dates and Times
Lumagination 2021 can be seen on several dates between Jan. and Feb. from 6-9 p.m., 6-10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays the specific dates have not yet been announced. The Botanical Gardens will close at 4:30 p.m. and re-open at 6 p.m. for Lumagination. These dates below are the 2020 dates for a frame of reference for when they could be.

Tickets available online or at the door! Tickets purchased online can be used any night of Lumagination. Guest passes and coupons are not valid.

January 26 – Family Night with the Aquarium of Niagara
Aquarium of Niagara Members will receive Botanical Gardens’ Member prices. Everyone will enjoy kids activities, touch tank fun and more!
January 28 – Photo & Influencer Night
For professional and amateur photographers only.
January 29 – Sensory Night hosted by Autism Services
Everyone is welcome! We encourage the autism community to enjoy this special evening. ASI facilitators will be on-hand to greet visitors and discuss the benefits of sensory environments.
February 5 – Hero Night & Happy Hour
Active Military and Veterans, with valid ID, receive free admission.
February 6 – Pride Night with the Pride Center of WNY
February 9 – Family Night with the Albright-Knox Art Gallery
