Rochester LGBT Film Festival

This LGBT Film Festival in Rochester, organized by Image Out, is a 10-day festival that aims to educate and entertain. Being the 28th annual festival, Image Out prioritizes showcasing members of the LGBT community and their stories through film and video. Established in 1993, this event is the largest gay and lesbian festival in upstate New York, and the second largest in New York state. The festival has featured hundreds of films and videos focusing on the LGBT experience, while supporting their creators. With almost three decades of supporting the LGBT community, Image Out is the perfect way to educate visitors about Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and many more experiences.

A Virtual Experience

In 2020, the festival is currently a virtual experience. Despite being online, Image Out continues to offer a multitude of enjoyable and thought provoking LGBT based movies and videos to view. All tickets can be purchased through the event website. Individual tickets for particular screenings range from $10-$15. These tickets can be accessed when browsing the given films and videos. For those who are seeking the full festival experience, the virtual festival pass is a preferred option. Individual passes cost $225, whereas Household passes are available for $300.

Audience Participation

The festival features a vast range of several LGBT films and videos. Image Out promotes starting open conversations, educating, and community building around the LGBT experience. To foster growth and dialogue, audience members are invited to participate in a questions and answers event after select films. Visitors can expect to be educated while enjoying innovative topics within the film. The most important aspect of the festival is support for the LGBT community, as well as garnering a greater intersectional understanding about acceptance and love.
