Discover 52 acres of gardens, conservatories and seasonal blooms at Brooklyn Botanic Garden, a peaceful green space in the heart of Brooklyn. From the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden to the Cherry Esplanade and Cranford Rose Garden, BBG offers something to see in every season.
Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a 52-acre living museum featuring gardens and plant collections from around the world. Visitors can wander through specialty gardens, conservatories, water features and woodland landscapes while discovering plants in bloom throughout the year.
Among the Garden’s most popular destinations is the Japanese Hill-and-Pond Garden, a historic landscape featuring ponds, bridges, lanterns and winding paths. The Garden is also known for its extensive cherry collection, which draws visitors each spring.
There’s plenty to explore throughout the Garden, including the Cranford Rose Garden, Fragrance Garden, Native Flora Garden, Shakespeare Garden, Herb Garden and Lily Pool Terrace. The Steinhardt Conservatory provides an indoor experience with tropical, desert and warm-temperate plant collections.
The Garden changes dramatically throughout the seasons, from cherry blossoms and magnolias in spring to roses, water lilies and meadow flowers in summer and colorful foliage in fall.
One of the best parts of visiting Brooklyn Botanic Garden is that there’s always something changing. BBG offers seasonal highlights, suggested itineraries and guided tours to help visitors make the most of their visit.
Beginning September 8 through October 31, 2026, the free Seasonal Highlights Tour takes place Tuesday through Sunday from 1–2 p.m., giving visitors an opportunity to discover plants and gardens at their seasonal peak.
Brooklyn Botanic Garden also hosts exhibitions, classes, tours and events throughout the year. Current 2026 exhibitions include Ancestral Ecologies, Block by Block, Block by Block: Streetscapes and Brooklyn’s Greening Heroes, all running through October 25.
Advance tickets are recommended and are available online up to 30 days before a visit. Adults are $22 at the box office, seniors and students are $16, and children under 12 enter free. A portion of each day’s tickets are also available as free Community Tickets.
The Garden has two public entrances at 455 Flatbush Avenue and 990 Washington Avenue. Visitors can also combine their trip with a visit to the nearby Brooklyn Museum through a Museum & Garden ticket.

Experience Brooklyn Botanic Garden via Amtrak to New York Penn Station. From Penn Station, visitors can connect to the NYC subway or continue by Long Island Rail Road to Atlantic Terminal, which is near the Garden.
Brooklyn Botanic Garden is also accessible by subway, with nearby stops serving the Garden’s entrances. The Garden recommends the 2, 3, 4, 5, B, Q and S subway lines depending on which entrance you use.
