ECHO’s mission is to inspire and engage families in discovering and caring about Lake Champlain. Located on the Burlington waterfront, this 34,500 square foot museum and indoor zoo houses more than 100 exhibits and 70 species of reptiles, fish, and amphibians.
EXHIBITS AND ACTIVITIES
The museum’s permanent exhibits include Awesome Forces, where visitors can enter a tornado’s vortex or control a robotic vehicle, as well as Engineer It, full of daily test stations and an interactive pulley where you can try your hand at lifting your own body weight. Little ones will enjoy the early learning exhibit Champ Lane, where they can climb a tree house or enjoy the book nook. And don’t miss the 3D movie theater with daily nature documentaries, along with the special exhibit Curious George: Let’s Get Curious, running through May 15. For a more up-close experience, visitors can take behind-the-scenes animal tours, of which some options include holding snakes, feeding lake sturgeon, and handling baby turtles.
TICKET INFORMATION
ECHO is open seven days a week from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in-person or online, and no reservation time is required. Adults are $18, children ages 3-17 are $14.40, and members are free.
