How far is the Walkway Over the Hudson from the train station?

Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park is located within walking distance of the Poughkeepsie Amtrak station in Poughkeepsie. Most visitors can reach the entrance to the walkway in about 10 to 15 minutes on foot.

The bridge is one of the most iconic attractions in the Hudson Valley and stretches more than a mile across the Hudson River. Originally built as a railroad bridge in the late 19th century, it has been transformed into the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world.

Visitors walking across the bridge can enjoy spectacular views of the Hudson River, the Catskill Mountains, and the surrounding landscape. Because it is so close to the train station, the walkway is often one of the first attractions travelers explore after arriving in Poughkeepsie.
