On most Amtrak trains, all surfboards and wakeboards must be checked for a small fee of $10.
Checked items, however, can weigh up to 50 pounds and be 120 inches in height.
Amtrak trains also require that all surfboards and wakeboards must have a protective cover or hard-sided case. No carry-ons are allowed.
