Perched on the shores of Lake Champlain, Valcour Brewing Company is housed within an historic military barracks
Great beer paired with a taste of history? You’ll find both at The Valcour Brewing Company. Located inside the restored 1838 “Old Stone Barracks”, Valcour Brewing Company offers exceptional craft brews and locally-sourced, classic American fare. This 19th century military structure was utilized as an enlisted men’s barracks, featuring a post hospital, dispensary, Company office, Sergeant’s room, Company kitchen and mess hall. The building was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1971.

The beer menu features a variety of flagship brews–including lagers, IPAs and porters–all handcrafted in-house. Try a refreshing Blueberry Lager, full of fruity flavor, or enjoy a tasty Copper Nails Ale, with its nutty, subtly caramel profile. Pair your pint with pub favorites like the housemade mac and cheese or the Chick With a Kick burger, complete with cajun grilled chicken breast, slaw and cheddar on a ciabatta roll. With its exposed brick from the original structure and a wood-burning stove, this brewery is the perfect cozy spot to soak up the historic scenery of Plattsburgh.
Every Tuesday from 4:30 to 9 p.m. is Burger Night at the brewery. Order a burger and get a free beer! Every Wednesday the brewery serves in-house smoked ribs. Happy Hour is from Wednesday to Friday, 3 to 5 p.m. featuring “buy one, get one” beer and wine.
The brewery offers inn accommodations on the lake for those seeking a longer stay. There are two properties available for rent.
