    What is the Abbey Inn & Spa?

    Nestled on a hilltop overlooking the Hudson River, this boutique inn is housed in an historic, former, Gothic church. The location, called Fort Hill, was once a fundamental lookout post during the Revolutionary War.  In 1872, the property was obtained by the Episcopal Sisters of Saint Mary and made into a convent. The intricate abbey and chapel were designed by Henry Martyn Congdon, an architect known for his many gothic works around the country. By 2003, the nuns relocated, and the abbey was thoughtfully reimagined into The Abbey Inn & Spa. 

    This luxury hotel was designed to maintain its vintage grandeur without compromising on providing lavish amenities and outstanding service. If you’re looking for a relaxing weekend getaway in the Hudson Valley, The Abbey will provide the perfect escape.

    Step inside this historic property, and you’re greeted with gorgeous original late 19th century architecture. From the elaborate stained-glass windows to the vaulted ceilings, the building’s past is enshrined in the details. The Inn boasts 42 elegantly designed rooms, many with views of the river below. During your stay, restore your wellness at the Abbey Spa, which offers massages, facials, peels and more. Explore the meticulously manicured grounds and enjoy bird’s eye views of the city of Peekskill and the Hudson River.

    Whether you’re planning a corporate retreat or a dream wedding, The Abbey is the perfect venue for your next event. The Inn offers free on-site parking as well as valet parking. Pets are not allowed.
