Situated along the shores of Delta Lake, this state park invites visitors to enjoy serene waterfront views, nature trails and year-round outdoor recreation.
Located just north of the city of Rome in Central New York, Delta Lake State Park sits on a peninsula extending into the tranquil waters of the Delta Reservoir (also called Delta Lake). With its gentle shoreline and accessible facilities, the park provides a family-friendly destination for various outdoor recreational activities, from swimming to hiking and more. With its forested setting and lakeside paths, the park provides a peaceful, outdoor escape.

Covering 720 acres, Delta Lake State Park offers year-round outdoor recreation opportunities. The park’s multi-use trails wind through woodlands and along the shoreline and are perfect for winter activities, such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and snowmobiling. During the summer months, visitors can enjoy the expansive, sandy beach, shaded picnic areas, pavilions and playgrounds.
Fishing enthusiasts can cast a line into Delta Lake, which is home to species such as trout, walleye and bass. During the winter months, ice fishing is also permitted. Delta Lake State Park’s campground is open seasonally and offers tent and RV sites. Amenities include clean restroom and shower facilities as well as easy access to the lake and recreation areas. No matter the season, Delta Lake State Park is the perfect place to get outside and enjoy nature!
From May 24th to September 1st a $7 entrance fee is required for cars entering the park.
Dogs are welcome throughout most areas of the park but must remain leashed. Picnic tables, grills and restroom facilities are available. Parking is provided in designated lots.
Certain facilities such as the beach and pavilions only operate seasonally. Camping season typically runs from May to October. The park’s boat launch is open from the end of April to the end of October. Swimming season runs from Memorial Day until Labor Day. The park hosts a variety of seasonal events and nature programs. On January 1st 2026 the park is hosting a First Day Hike from 10 to 11AM with park staff, the perfect way to ring in the New Year!
