Join the Mid-Hudson Valley in a nice moonlit stroll over the Hudson River. On July 19, the historic Walkway Over the Hudson will be hosting their spring Moon Walk. The Walkway spans the distance of the Hudson River between the towns of Lloyd in Ulster County and the city of Poughkeepsie in Dutchess County. It serves as a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the Walkway State Historic Park.

During the Moon Walk, guests can enjoy twilight views from 212 feet above the river from 8:30 p.m. until 10:30 p.m. They can even look into the night sky and find their favorite stars with telescopes provided by the Mid-Hudson Astronomical Association. LED based lights allow the use of the bridge at night, lighting the way for all who attend to walk from county to county over the water.

Entrance to the event is available on both ends of the bridge, Walkway East in Poughkeepsie and Walkway West in Highland. No bikes, rollerblades or skateboards are allowed on the bridge during the event. Guests are able to bring their pets along for the fun, but must attend on a 4-foot retractable leash with a light up collar. Glow sticks will be available for them at the event. The cost to attend the Moon Walk is free for Walkway members, while donations are encouraged for non-members.
