RevCon 2026

Celebrate America’s 250 semiquincentennial with RevCon 2026 — the third-annual Revolutionary War Reenactment and History Fair, hosted by Destination Dutchess and the Dutchess County Department of History on June 13 from 10 – 4 pm. This year’s celebration will once again be held at the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum in Hyde Park.

    What is RevCon 2026?

    RevCon is a living history event, featuring cannon and musket demonstrations, tactics discussions, exhibitions of military camp life and uniforms, and question-and-answer sessions about life in Revolutionary America. The accompanying history fair in the Wallace Center at the FDR Library will include historical lectures about the Hudson Valley’s role in the Revolutionary

    How to Experience RevCon 2026

    RevCon 2026 has a full slate of educational, family friendly events and historical lectures planned for the event on June 13.

    10–11am  Dutchess Rev250 Programming Grant Awards Event

    10:30 am — 12:30 pm Oxen Demos/Wagon Ride

    11:30 am–12:15 pm  Michael Gabriel Lecture, “The Canonization of Richard Montgomery”

    11:30 am–12 pm  Children’s Musket Drill

    12:30–1 pm  Musket/Cannon Demo (45 minutes)

    1:30–2:30 pm   Oxen and Draft Horse Demos

    2–4 pm    Commander in Cheers Beer Tastings

    2:30–3 pm    Children’s Musket Drill

    3–3:30 pm    Musket/Cannon Demo

    3:15–4 pm    Sara Evenson Presentation, “From the Colonial Hearth to Your Kitchen”

    New at RevCon this year will be the “Commander in Cheers” beer tasting.  Sample locally-crafted, limited-edition beers and listen to stories of Dutchess County’s revolutionary heroics as told by a pint-sized, augmented reality version of George Washington — also known as “Tiny George.”   Simply scan the code found on specially-marked coasters. The coasters will be available at RevCon and can also be found in pubs, restaurants and at other locations throughout the county.
