What better way to get your Spring season started than at the Buffalo Cherry Blossom Festival? The picturesque Japanese Garden in Delaware Park will begin to show its beautiful colors just in time for the celebration. The annual event will take place from April 29 to May 3 this year.
The days are packed with cultural events and activities that highlight Japanese traditions. These events open up people’s eyes to Japanese culture and their practices. The family-friendly festival includes puppet shows, origami, drum circles and rides on little pink boats. Surrounding them are vendors and food trucks to keep everyone full throughout their activities.
The festival has an Opening Ceremony to kick off the days of activities. In the past, some days held Fusion Food themed parties and traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. Events also include the “Cherry Blossom Challenge,” in which participants find their way through a course beginning and ending at the Japanese Garden. For this event, there is a $10 registration fee.
While there may be tickets for some events, entrance to the Japanese Garden is free and is open during daylight hours.
