What is the Belmont Stakes?
The Belmont Stakes Racing Festival includes five straight days of 25 world-class races at Saratoga, with superstars both equine and human, taking the track every day. Its centerpiece is the 158th running of the Grade 1 Belmont Stakes on Saturday, June 6. It will be contested at 1 1/4 miles rather than the traditional 1 1/2 miles due to the configuration of Saratoga’s main track. Official post time for the 2026 Belmont Stakes is 7:04pm ET.
Held since 1867, the Belmont Stakes is the oldest Triple Crown race and the fourth oldest horse race in North America.
How to Experience the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival
General admission tickets are available for a single day of the festival for anywhere between $10 and $30. A pass for the Belmont Stakes Day is $75 or one can buy a five-day pass, which includes Belmont Stakes Day for $120.
Options to bet at the track include betting with a teller in person, via NYRA Bets or Self-Service Terminals for wagers big and small. You can make basic bets for as little as $1 per race.
Spectators are encouraged to check the website for a list of prohibited items. The 2026 Belmont Stakes Racing Festival will not be accepting cash for the majority of purchases, including food and beverage service, admissions, and parking. Credit cards, debit cards, mobile wallets and other mobile pay options, like Apple Pay, will be accepted for non-wagering purchases.
