Get ready for a show! Proctors Theatre is the center of Schenectady community and entertainment, allowing people to experience theater, music, dance and art. After opening in 1926, the theatre has evolved from strictly vaudeville performances. After being saved from by Schenectady citizens from closing down twice, the theatre has been reborn. Today, Proctors expanded and continues to encourage imagination in the community though shows, education, summer camps and art experiences.
Proctors began hosting the largest touring Broadway shows in 2003. In addition, its entertainment expands from music to live performances/talks, movies, family events and comedic events. In addition to its shows, the theatre also offers classes and workshops for all ages. Classes include acting, musical theatre, dance, film and media. Summer programs are also available for ages 7 to 19.

Upcoming Shows
Upon reopening, Proctors Theatre will be showing the critically acclaimed musical, CATS! in 2022. The musical will be performed at the theatre from May 3 to May 8.
